Doodles and filters

So I haven't really been doing anything for the last week or so (That naga head is making me bash my own head in). The only thing I really drew was some crystals because I've been meaning to practice it for months now.

And then I tried out a couple filters tonight and ended up with this

Looks a bit more like leaf texture or insect wings or something
And I don't really know how to duplicate it.

How do texture?

    THATS SO COOL!!!! I wanna try making crystal clumps!!!!! I like the contrast you got on the filtered one. I could see that being a bit like a texture for an insect wing but I think it does well for crystal texture. I think it gives the illusion of various planes quite nicely. :)
